You can be better equipped to tackle the growing challenges posed by external and internal threats to academic, physical, emotional and social well-being within P-12 school settings through the School Safety Endorsement Certification from University of the Cumberlands.*

This certification program can prepare you for a role as a school safety coordinator in a variety of P-12 school settings. The program introduces school safety and safety regulations, policies and procedures, as well as effective responsiveness to and assessment of school security and safety threats. Learn to evaluate risks to safety and security from preventative and post-incident discovery perspectives. Develop a proactive approach to addressing risk in areas such as safety and security policy and procedure reviews; collaboration with students, employees and outside agencies to build school emergency plans; and evaluation of physical security needs.

* In 2019, the Kentucky legislature passed a bill that requires every school district in the state to have a School Safety Coordinator on staff. Only University of the Cumberlands offers this unique endorsement opportunity.
