Information Systems Security (M.S.)
Our electronic information is everywhere – and with that, the need for information security has become critical for every organization. As a professional discipline, information security prevents or mitigates the risk of loss of data. University of the Cumberlands offers the Master of Science in Information Systems Security degree. This program is intended for those who have earned their Bachelor’s degree and want to develop leadership skills in the field of information security.
Through the Master of Science in Information Systems Security program, we’ll teach you to:
- Develop and implement security policies
- Manage compliance with federal regulations that apply to information security
- Create disaster prevention and recovery plans
- Manage compliance with the various federal regulations that apply to information security such as Sarbanes-Oxley, the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act
- Create disaster prevention and recovery plans
- Recognize and prevent problems that occur due to hardware, software and network configurations
Upon completion of this program, you can be ready for upper-level positions in the information security field, and become proficient at preventing or mitigating the risk of loss of data.
